Tacoma’s Premier Luxury Condo Is Sold - July 2006

Michael Morrison July 10, 2006

The booming condo market in downtown Tacoma has hit a new milestone. Tacoma’s premier luxury condo has been brokered by Michael Morrison. This is a special sale in that it is the architect’s very own condo at the very first luxury tower to ever hit Pierce County, The Swedberg Family Condominium of 1 Stadium Way.

The record-setting 7-digit sale was for 2500 square feet of view living, 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and included 1 parking space. The luxury tower was published in the Tacoma News Tribune Sound Life section in 1977. The home's trendy décor was published in full glory with the theme being a “cascade of blue.” The home was also used as a promotion for dinner and dancing in the tower with an admission charge of $12.50 a person in 1977.

Swedberg created a legacy by being the architect of the building and helping design one of Tacoma’s most timeless condominium projects. Lyle Swedberg and his wife, Delores, were one of the original owners of the luxury tower, which has become the ultimate address and recipe for the hot luxury market. “It is with great pride to be part of history with such an amazing architect and family, Mr. Swedberg has truly created a legacy. He and his wife would be proud,” stated Morrison. Morrison is an active member of The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing and has come to broker properties for some of the most affluent sellers in our area.
